Brief Overview of the Project
The development of a testing concept as well as the implementation of an efficient test management system to ensure the successful transition to S/4HANA.
The Contribution from OBJENTIS
OBJENTIS advanced the project not only professionally but also with initiative and a proactive approach. The time pressure was very high; within just a few weeks, a functional testing concept was developed and successfully implemented together with OBJENTIS. Key factors for the project’s success were a smooth onboarding process, the consultants’ intensive familiarization with technical and business aspects, as well as their initiative and communication on an equal footing.
In a short time, a well-functioning test management system was designed and implemented, and together with OBJENTIS, we set the project on a course for success.

Wüstenrot Technology
Christian Fuchs,
Managing Director
Brief Overview of the Project
Wüstenrot’s SAMUM project aimed to establish an online bank to achieve the strategic goal of becoming the only genuine bancassurance provider in Austria by expanding its portfolio.
The Contribution from OBJENTIS
OBJENTIS joined the project at the beginning of the system integration phase. At this point, there were already around 1,600 test cases, and the challenge was to structure, prioritize, and execute them. The aim was to create a clear and transparent structure, prepare the necessary documentation, coordinate responsibilities, ensure smooth communication, and guarantee the timely execution of the test cases across several phases.
The test cases were analyzed, and the status quo was determined with the help of a brief status review. In addition to regular test status meetings, a small internal project focused on communication and transparency was established to ensure that all project teams were aware of what the other teams were currently working on. A clear and speedy test process was ensured by prioritizing the test cases, assigning them to the responsible teams in the respective test phases, and maintaining consistent status tracking. OBJENTIS consultants also helped coordinate the collaboration between internal project participants and the external software supplier. Additionally, they assisted in setting up transparent management reporting, which formed the basis for decisions regarding the progress of the test phases and the go-live.

Brief Overview of the Project
An SAP S/4HANA migration project (Bluefield approach) is being launched to achieve the strategic goal of accelerating business processes and enabling closer integration of data.
The Contribution from OBJENTIS
OBJENTIS was brought on board from the second test run phase. The relevant know-how was acquired via “twinning” within a short period of time, and support was provided during the test execution and refactoring of the test cases. This mainly involved the areas of materials management, warehouse management and production management in the pharmaceutical division as well as ordering, purchasing and accounting in the cosmetics division. During the third test run, in addition to refactoring and executing the test cases, support was also provided in creating the audit documents.
Two major challenges in particular had to be overcome during the project: firstly, in-depth specialist department know-how had to be acquired within a very short space of time in order to ensure effective test execution. Secondly, the test cases were highly interdependent or influenced each other, so a very good understanding of the process was necessary to ensure a meaningful test procedure. With the “Twinning” & “3-phase concept” methods developed by OBJENTIS, these two critical requirements were met in a timely and resource-efficient manner and the project was brought to a successful conclusion.

Online Ticket System
Online ticketing systems must be able to support different fares, meet high security standards, check permissions for discounts, be intuitive to use as well as being able to have good performances when under heavy loads. Minor defects can cause major corresponding problems due to the broad range of use when it comes to these systems. That’s why testing and quality assurance measures are of upmost importance even before release.
Support from OBJENTIS
To ensure a smooth start, OBJENTIS was commissioned to design and conduct acceptance tests before the system went live. As a first step, it was necessary to align the different perspectives of the various project participants – including the business department, various service managers of the transport authority and the software supplier – in a workshop. Based on this, suitable test procedures were developed, including functional tests, load and performance tests, and final acceptance tests.
In the functional test, the ticket system and the context programs were subjected to End2End tests. Since routing and tariffing were provided by already existing subsystems, interface tests were of particular importance.
An essential part of the functional testing was complete documentation, which was made available to the supplier immediately after each test cycle, so that problems could be solved quickly.
In live operation, it must be ensured that a very large number of potential customers can access the online system and order a ticket at the same time. Load and performance tests with up to 10,000 simultaneous requests gave the customer confidence about the performance limits of the system.
Finally, OBJENTIS developed functional final acceptance tests, with testing performed by the stakeholders themselves.
Since the overall system went online, it has been operating smoothly and to the customer’s satisfaction.

Ottobock
Documentation and adaptions of the „bebalance+“ adjustment software to Ottobock-standards
In addition to extensive in-house developments, Otto Bock Healthcare Products GmbH integrates outstanding innovative products from other manufacturers into its portfolio. These include the technologically world-leading, multi-joint bebionic prosthetic hand. In order to provide users with optimal care and to continuously develop the products, these solutions are documented in accordance with Ottobock guidelines, the user interface is adapted to Ottobock standards and the interfaces between hardware and software are revised. In addition, the functionality is expanded; in this case, the Myo Plus control system developed by Ottobock was linked to the new product.
These adjustments require extensive testing as well as documentation. OBJENTIS is proud to have contributed within this highly innovative environment.
OBJENTIS’ contribution: Reverse documentation, testing, function adaptation
The first phase involved code documentation of the purchased software – in the form of “reverse documentation”. This documentation was a basis for defining further requirements and for developing optimization proposals.
In a second phase, the existing software was revised. On the one hand, regulatory requirements were implemented, and on the other hand, the design of dialogs and information for the user interface was adapted to Ottobock standards. In addition, compatibility was established for Myo Plus, a control system with pattern recognition.
The challenges in this project lay in the high standards for medical products, both for safe functionality and for comprehensive documentation. The various interfaces – such as two different wireless interfaces and support for the Myo Plus pattern recognition control system – had to be described and tested. In this context, due to the complexity of the communication, timing was a particularly sensitive issue.
The Company
Ottobock is the world market leader in technical orthopedics: 7000 employees in more than 50 countries worldwide work for this medical technology company, whose research and development designs and manufactures technologically outstanding medical technology products. The conviction that people’s quality of life is closely linked to maximum individual freedom and independence is a guiding principle that significantly shapes the company’s history and guides the development of new products. One focus at Ottobock is the development of mechatronic solutions for the auto-adaptive control of prostheses.

Head of Property, Liability, Accident and Legal Insurance Division
The Project
DONAU Versicherung, a subsidiary of the Vienna Insurance Group, is working with SAP on a software solution for the administration of insurance contracts that can be used throughout Europe. The goal is a complete software standard that meets all contemporary and future requirements and enables a rapid response to market changes and technical developments. Due to the complexity of the project and in order to reduce the workload of the specialist department, DONAU Versicherung decided to outsource the testing activities.
OBJENTIS offered itself as a competent and flexible partner. OBJENTIS’ know-how was used to qualitatively meet the test concept and the necessary test requirements.
OBJENTIS’ contribution as a competent & long-term partner
- Test case creation & refactoring: OBJENTIS provided support for test case creation and refactoring of existing test case documents with the goal of restructuring their content and form in order to make them automatable for testing. In addition, reference values were recorded, which served to verify the test cases.
- Test execution: Manual execution by OBJENTIS was a primary goal in order to reduce the effort required by the business department. The test team’s task was to identify errors and report them to the technical department.
- Redflag test: In the subsequent redflag test, the test cases of the corrected errors were subjected to a retest.
The Company
DONAU Versicherung is Austria’s fifth largest insurance company. It is part of the Vienna Insurance Group. Its approximately 700,000 customers are served regionally, in nine regional offices and more than 70 business and service offices, and thus directly on site throughout Austria . “The DONAU” product range covers all lines of business.
