Our collaboration with the Blickkontakt
Our collaboration with the Blickkontakt Association (Thomas Posch, Marion Hiesberger) began over
a chessboard and led us to an inspiring project.
Together, we shape inclusion – both online and offline. This year, Blickkontakt celebrated its 30th anniversary!
What makes the association so special?
Here are some highlights from our interview: Events: Low-threshold meetings where sighted and blind individuals come together. Education: Workshops and awareness campaigns about accessibility in schools and institutions. Mobility: Collaboration with Wiener Linien, ÖBB, and others to improve accessibility for everyone.
How does Objentis support Blickkontakt?
Our colleague Gabriel analyzed the requirements for an accessible website and implemented initial solutions – from screen reader optimizations to planned features like chatbots. For more information about this project, check out our full interview.
Property obligation
Companies have certain responsibilities within society. OBJENTIS is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – as a voluntary contribution by business to sustainable development. This includes supporting cultural initiatives or aid projects for people in need as well as environmental and climate protection, fairness towards employees and suppliers and equal treatment regardless of gender, ethnic origin, or religious or sexual orientation.
Information and communication technologies bring the world closer together. In a global working world, IT companies are networked worldwide, and this networking is a prerequisite for innovation, cooperation and exchange. As some of our employees have their roots in other countries, we believe an open and diverse society in which social cohesion prevails is not only an ethical obligation, but is indeed a prerequisite for both successful – socially responsible – economic activity and innovation.
Solidarity takes time
OBJENTIS has been supporting social initiatives and aid projects within Austria and abroad since 2011 with an average of one percent of sales. We use this money to support people who are in dire need. Examples being: people affected by natural disasters, refugees and people in need of treatment for serious illnesses. We also support initiatives that contribute to improving living conditions in the long term: with educational projects, in cancer research and through integration projects.
In particular, we support various focus projects through the CARE organization, such as Refugees in Thailand. In addition we are active in Ethiopian Aid through Menschen für Menschen, where our CEO Roland Tscheinig informed himself about some of the projects on site during a field trip, and in Tanzania through the organization Shikamana.
Other organizations to which we regularly donate include Stiftung Kindertraum, SOS Mitmensch and Amnesty International. In addition, our employees and our managing director regularly take part in the Vienna Night Run with charity starting places, the proceeds of which benefit Light for the World.
Arts and culture
OBJENTIS is also active in the field of arts and culture. For example, OBJENTIS has provided financial support to the Wien Neubau choir, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2020, and in 2022 and 2023 we were one of the sponsors of the STORY OF JAZZ by Kurt Prohaska.
Our office spaces will be made available to artists as exhibition space. In cooperation with the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, young artists are or have been supported.
Supported projects
OBJENTIS has already supported many initiatives and organizations, find a small list of examples below.
We offer our employees the opportunity to earmark a monthly amount of their salary for social projects – and OBJENTIS doubles this contribution.
If you would also like to help, you will find two of our focus projects that we are currently supporting in particular at “You can help too!” Or simply click on the respective Logo in the list below to go to the websites of the aid organization. Each of these organizations fulfills an important task and is grateful for support!
