IT solutions for insurance companies are characterized by complex, interconnected systems: sales processes span multiple applications from initial customer interest to the final policy, policy administration is handled in SAP, and web frontends and form systems must work seamlessly together. Until now, end-to-end test automation across this system landscape was hardly possible – the effort required for customization and scripting was too high. Twinformatics aimed to specifically increase automated test coverage in these “blind spots.”
Since 2020, twinformatics has been using Objentis’ Drvless Automation – a solution based on image recognition and AI. Drvless acts like a human user: The tool recognizes interfaces, navigates through processes, and checks whether each step is executed correctly – all without invasive interfaces, and no in-depth programming knowledge is required.
A typical use case is the automated end-to-end testing of application processes: A customer’s insurance needs are digitally captured, processed across multiple connected systems, and completed up to the point of account posting. Drvless interacts with all involved applications – from web frontends to SAP – and is fully integrated into twinformatics’ existing Test Automation Factory. Results are automatically fed back into the central test management system (Jira/Xray).
The introduction of Drvless was carried out in close collaboration with Objentis – this included training, joint workshops and the further development of a server-based version of Drvless.
Drvless enables the automation of even non-standard applications and reduces maintenance efforts by approximately 25%. Test cases can be created intuitively without in-depth IT knowledge, and adjustments to new user interfaces are quick and easy. Its use is particularly valuable where traditional frameworks reach their limits.
The solution supports future extensions—such as RPA or application monitoring—and is scalable and future-proof thanks to its integration into existing processes.
